Islamic State Involvement
[edit]Rumors are flying around the internet saying that this is linked to the Islamic State. Is there any evidence to support this? 160.109.104.125 (talk) 22:50, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
- None in any WP:RS I have seenm but a negative proves nothing. If you find a reliable source, report it. μηδείς (talk) 05:54, 5 December 2014 (UTC)
The article was originally composed in American English Diff and per policy, spellings should not be changed to reflect other varieties. μηδείς (talk) 02:33, 5 December 2014 (UTC)
Background
[edit]It seems the author of this article's section has scant knowledge about the topic and obviously does not know how to write an article properly. Perhaps, s/he tried to expand the article with the best of intentions, but by any means, that is why this article's section is so abstract and loosely relevant: blah blah blah Chechen War blah blah blah Beslan blah blah blah Putin's Portrait. I suggest to rewrite this section and make it closer to the certain case, or at worst delete it. Anyway, according WP:OFFTOPIC I have to add at least an off-topic template. --85.140.239.182 (talk) 14:19, 5 December 2014 (UTC)
- Go ahead and fix "it", although you have said what "it" is, just made personal attacks. "Blah blah blah Putin's Potrait" is not something you should expect others to respond to as if it had some rational import. μηδείς (talk) 17:23, 5 December 2014 (UTC)
- Since that section is WP:OFFTOPIC, why not delete it? It makes to connection to the event whatsoever. We don't even know who exactly the perpetuators are. Khazar (talk) 04:26, 6 December 2014 (UTC)
- That's nice improvement. Thank you. Khazar (talk) 04:15, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
death toll
[edit]The radio announced about an hour ago that Russian authorities have said that 16 policemen have now died but I can't find this in print anywhere. μηδείς (talk) 21:00, 5 December 2014 (UTC)
Terrorists or insurgents?
[edit]We should take a common description for the perpetraters of this attack. Considering policemen where the target instead of civilians, I would say this is not terrorism, but insurgence. 83.163.231.32 (talk) 00:23, 6 December 2014 (UTC)
- I've changed all references to "terrorists" to "militants" as it seems more appropriate here. The kyle 3 (talk) 03:49, 6 December 2014 (UTC)
If a group of Jihadists attacked police station in New York, would you call them militants or terrorists? And would you call that a terrorist attack, or clashes? Be honest about it... One criterion should apply to all, including Russia. Is this "downplayed" terminology used BECAUSE it happened in Russia?McMixy (talk) 23:48, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
